Our Humble Feast on Arthur's Seat

While vacationing in Edinburgh in May, one of the items on our ‘to do’ list was to climb Arthur’s Seat, a large hill in the centre of the city.

Having completed the 800+ ft  ascent in just over 1-1/2 hours (we took our time and enjoyed the scenery), we stopped on our way back down for a well-deserved break.  We sat on long, soft grass overlooking the city and the Firth of Forth.

We munched on delicious Scotch pies purchased from Edinburgh Farmers’ Market, and massive blueberries and raspberries from Marks & Spencer.  A modest meal, absolutely; but one of the most memorable.  Simple is best.
